Hi Guys

Has anyone done any Chrony work  of  BH 209 loads?

I am looking for fps for a load of 80grns 209 by weight over 300 gr PT Gold Scorpion 50/45 with Black Crush Rib Sabot.

Thanks
Joe

I just bought a Chrony last week so I will be testing several loads in the next couple of weeks. I can test your request out of my Vortek LDR. If you want a quicker answer Toby Bridges site (NAML) has several tested rifles with the combo you listed.
I think this site might have a post from awhile back comparing several different loads with BH209.

Sorry for the late response, work has been brutal and the weather has been tough as well. I finely got out shooting because I just got a new smokeless muzzleoader(Apex Slufoot conversion). The scorpion PT gold in my LDR with 77 grains by weight of Bh209 with a black crush rib crossed the Chrony at an average of 1977 fps. Same setup with harvester smooth black was 2006 fps. In my gun the crush rib loads to easy.

Thanks for the great info. I will be shooting my 45 muzzy this week. working up some loads. Maybe BH 209 will publish 45 cal load data'

Thanks again
Joe

THEY SENT ME SOME 45 DATA WHEN I ASKED THEM A QUESTION ABOUT THE 45 BREECH PLUG BUT ITS ONLY FOR SEVEN OF THE MOST POPULAR SABOTED BULLETS FOR THE 45. FOR SHOCKWAVES 200 GR.FROM 70 TO 120 GR 209 GOES 1836    1992   2129   2230   2390    2454 THATS FOR THAT BULLET  FROM 70 GR, TO 120 GR.

I used 84 grains weighed of BH209 with the LDR and 300 grain smooth black harvester and was getting between 2078-2100 fps. Not the best spread and 100 accuracy was ok but not as good as 77 grains weighed. The 77 grain load is very consistent with typically less than 10 fps of spread for 5-6 shots. At this point I don't plan on shooting BH209 in my Apex 45-70 conversion so I can help out there.

Not what you were asking for, but I thought I'd post the info in case someone else found it useful...

95gr (volume) BH209 with Powerbelt 295gr Aerotip = avg of 1691 fps measuered at 10'
