Stain

Anyone ever make up their own colored wood stain? Thinking of using artists oil color and mineral spirits to get the color I want.I will use it on a laminated stock so don't really need much.To have a custom color mixed @ a hardware store you have to get a gal. and I don't want to do every lam. stock on the planet.......just mine. I should add here that I'm thinking a green or a blue or a somthing color, not a wood color.

I made a crossbow rack for my crossbow and arrows:made with white oak and walnut stain
