45 cal Lyman

Can anyone tell me what model Lyman made that was a 45 cal ? I found one online locally that I am trying to decide if I should go and look over tomorrow . So far it sounds like a good deal but I cant remember Lyman making any 45 cal . It has a nice wooden carry case and around 10 boxes of maxi balls and some 2f powder for 250.

Lymans Plains rifle - It pre-dates the great plains model. Kind of looks like their trade rifle but with a big snazzy patch box.

Jonathan is Correct, Lyman “Plains” .45 Cal, Not to be mistaken for their “Great Plains”

 A friend of mine in Utah has 1 of them, cool Looking Rifle with the Snazzy Patch Box  :ttups:

Thats what I thought it was but wasnt sure .He sent me some better pictures and its not as pretty as it was in the other ones but Im willing to go look . It has some surface rust but if its not pitted bad I can brown the barrel ,all depends on what the bore looks like.

Not the best picture but you can see it has a shorter barrel than a Great Plains and only 1 wedge pin, no mention of barrel twist.

He promised me that the bore was good and was going to clean it up and send me pictures .I guess I was right when I told him from what I saw there was no cleanup going to fix it. No pictures and no reply when I messaged him so he's on his own with that one just hope he doesnt find some poor sucker and sell it to them.
