    new pick up-

on a cyl. or no choke ML (or other shotgun bbl., find a socket that "just will" fit in the muzzle, i mean close. ( at local pawn shop, i went through a hundred, get a threaded rod long enough to reach past the dent, use 2 nuts to fix socket on one end and I used two more with large washer on...

Where to get scrimshaw from hunting horn to powder horn.

with the light, you may be able to use tracing paper to copy exactly the image you want to transfer. I have also darkened up an old scrimshaw piece for someone, and used soot to rub in the lines. It was an old piece that had no provenance to speak of, and I generally don't like to do that to...

Where to get scrimshaw from hunting horn to powder horn.

You can also try carbon paper to trace your design on the horn. Tape carbon paper to back of the sketch, wrap it on the horn and trace over sketch. I don't use this method, but some do to good effect.

    loaders and such

If you make one of these or two, wrap both ends as they will eventually split. Coat/cover with spar varnish. I've used cord and leather string. Lead in bottom as it goes in last. Pulling the two top ends tightens up both end plugs. I can pull top plug with my teeth with no trouble, the two...

    new pick up-

don't let a dinged barrel run you off, use it to drop the price! Anyhow, the above, addresses dings "in" (from the outside) not blow outs as in barrel obstructions etc. In muzzleloaders it helps tremendously if it is cyl. bore. Chokes cause a different problem, but can be addressed. Choked...

Where to get scrimshaw from hunting horn to powder horn.

wganz, I do scrimshaw, see below. But I burned out for this year, however, you can do this. with the pictures you have, send them to your printer, (B&W) then, using a lead pencil, start sketching/drawing the designs. Using the lead pencil lets you make corrections and/or move whole scene to...

    loaders and such

nope, but they are not hard to make, I have to sketch one up for a magazine article later, will try to remember to post sketch here. Again, any bamboo will do, I just wanted to use what was native to this area at the time one would have used it.

    Patched Ball Shooters

I use bear fat, sweet oil (olive oil) and bees wax, wax % depending on time of year and what I'm using it for, old mix, worked back then, works for me now. Use on wood, leather, patches, steel, ....hell, maybe you can eat it if.....

    loaders and such

shooting smoothe bores since early 60's, always looking for a handy and speedy way to load/reload, and hanging a shooting pouch, horn, and shot snake, just doesn't work too well in my south east hunting environment. The understory will latch on to anything you have hanging about you. I used...

    Some items I've made

So far (last PRT scan) clear, but have to continue immunotherapy for another 6 months at least. Using whole grain flour, I added enough warm honey to make a pretty firm mix, made into cakes baked low temp (150 or so) couple hours, dried open couple more and did it all again. Do my regular hard...

    Some items I've made

well been about a year, and the hard tack made with honey is still great, been suspended in a small burlap bag in the rafters and no sign of spoilage and have sampled about once a month since. Soaking them in coffee water softens up some, enough to nibble away on, and simmered couple blocks of...
