    PRB vs Maxi ball

I have tried both and as far as accuracy goes, PRB's always perform better no matter the caliber. The depth of rifling determines how well a rifle will stabilize a lead conical, then the rate of twist. I did work up a very accurate load for a fast twist Great Plains Hunter barrel that I had...

    What's Your Favorite Sidelock?

I think cherry may be my favorite species of wood for stocks because even with little or no curl the color always surprises me. I still love walnut though, so it may be a tie. Yours is a beauty and Hirsch does build nice ones.

    GRRW Hawken .54cal

Very nice! Someone with a sharp set of chisels and even sharper ability did some very precise inletting. Where did you find that slab of Maple?!? That has the most amount of curl/ quilting/ figure I've ever seen.

New kit gun has been ordered!

Just for the weight savings and less nose heavy feel, I would go that route. I would also lean towards some red tint in the finish since the beech wood as  little to no figure .
