The new Knight DISC Elite 45 cal that i got the other day.

Avenger and I were able to get to the Dinger Farm today to do some shooting. His 'new to him' TC 54 cal Renegade came in this week and the new DISC really needed to be shot. The Renegade that he got was really a nice gun. The former owner had dome a very good job maintaining it.

The wind was terrible and it would try to hail and snow every now and then but we were detirmined to shoot - so I backed the rear of the truck in under the roof of one of the out building on the farm and we shot out of the other bay. The worst part the wind was blowing left to right across the target. At one point I even had to go back out and staple the paper target back on to the board. The wind just tore it off. We looked for the shot patches but were able to only find one patch - the wind was just carring them off someplace.

This target shows the first 6 shots from each gun, it is only a 25 yard target but I think both guns show a lot of promise. The 45 really seems to have potential. I really hope to do some more shooting with it in the next day or two. I want to get it extended out to 100 yards - sure hope the weather cooperates...

This is today's target...

I know alot of folks do not like those black thumbholes - I have two of them and really like them...

In the next few weeks I hope I can show you a re-model job on one of them....

The only thing i really cared about was keeping the laminated stock in mint condition. Having a beater stock is a huge plus and it fits me well....Seems a tiny bit lighter too.

Plus now it really is a one of a kinda :p

I know the Elite 50 is rated as one of the most accurate production ML ever made but some folks dont think the 45 can shoot as well.

I say otherwise....45cals shoot great when you find the sweet spot. Ive got several sub 1" groups to prove it and 200yard groups that will rival any production 50cal.

That was with the Acurra so im sure it shouldnt be too hard with an Elite. :D

Those Barnes 10mm 155gr TAC-XPs were insanely accurate at 100 yards. It will be interesting to see how well it handles the Buffalo 325gr conical and the 300gr Powerbelt Plats.

My next purchase is going to be a chrono and then a RCBS auto powder measure. Loading all these tubes sucks. :p

Heading to the private range right now at my friends, then off to my dads for family time.

Have a Great Easter everyone.

Scott
