Just thought I would let the IL members and anyone else who may be interested that you can apply for your firearms permits today on line. THE DRAWING IS SOME TIME IN JUNE/JULY THOUGH. The combo permits are $42.50 this year. Last year they were $30.00 for the e/s or a/o :!: :!:
 
Appilied for mine the other day. Don't mind a slight increase...but 41%!!
Come on. The DNR is cutting programs, services, and using money for nonconservation projects then this. It was better when they were the Dept of Conservation and seperate from the other things like parks and recreation. At least then the money went to closer to what it was suspose to!

I don't like paying more money either but considering that this is the first price increase for resident firearm and muzzleloader deer permits in at least 20 years (maybe 25) I'm ok with it as long as the money goes for wildlife related purposes and not straight into the general revenue fund for the legislature to waste. I can't think of anything else that hasn't seen a price in the last couple decades.
