These are from my WinApex 50. Ive always loved the gun but blowby has been a bit more than i like. Its basically the same as a CVA Kodiak Pro stainless. Several Kodiak owners seem to have similar blowby from the factory plug and drop action.

The plug was pretty dirty Lehigh liner set a bit below flush, flash hole enlarged and primer pocket shimmed.

Talk about clean with basically any primer. This gun has never left a primer this clean even just firing only a primer. Even with the modded CVA plug without a shim for tighter head space. Rem STSs were terribly dirty before this mod.

All primers are well within reasonable levels, even the cheap Nobel 209/686. My LGS sells them for about $24/1000. Edit now $25/1000.

Now i just need to try some Cheddites. he sells them for abour $22/1000. :D

Edit $29/1000 for the Cheddites. Price went up?

Ron made this one and another for me. Im going to try the other one which is a bit tighter in the Accura. I will report on that one after the Sunday range session.

Excellent job Ron. This is by FAR the cleanest this gun has ever fired a primer. :yeah:

If you need more details about his mod you will need to ask him since im not sure of the exact specs. :p

I was considering selling it but now i cant. It has 2 stocks and both feel so good. Accuracy isnt bad but max load is rated a bit low. The trigger is better than average and breaks crisp.

Basically a poor mans Omega without the tight bore. It even shoots the 475/50 sabots with 325gr XTPs at an acceptable level of accuracy with moderate (100gr) charges.

Best of all it fits ME well and thats is a huge plus.

But thank Ron. His breach plug got rid of the only complaint i had and with every primer ive tried. I just got some Cheddites and if those work then it will shoot any primer with almost no blowby.

Tested the Cheddites primers

Totally spotless.

Stay tuned for the test in the Accura. Im not going to post pics unless asked but will report soon.

Sofar the Accura action closes with Cheddites and are also spotless. This plug has even tighter tolerance than the plug i tested in the WinApex.

That looks great! I've burnt the bottom of a couple of scopes with rubber on the adjustment ring. Can you give the contact infor and price for a CVA Kodiak Magnum.
