May pick-up a box of the 300 Grain Hornady .452 XTP's and try in addition to the 250's just for the heck of it.

I see they have a 300 Grain .452 XTP Mag ( No. 45235) and a .452 Hollow Point/XTP ( No. 45230). Anyone have any input on which may be better for a ML??

Thanks.

I like the XTP mags myself. They are both good bullets but the XTP mags are made to help control expansion at higher velocities which is more suited for muzzleloading.

I'm also shooting a .458 diameter Hornady 300 grain HP and the accuracy is very good so far. Also the nose design is although different, looks like for deer it would hold up well. From all the reports of the XTP they are a good bullet. I just like to see what else is out there. Like you! :D

I was talking to Sabotloader about the .458 Hornady HP and he said they are a very effective projectile. I trust his opinion and I also read a review of Randy Wakeman's on them. I am going to give them a try also if the accuracy of them pans out like I think they will...
