Hi to all
So, I finally took the time to read the manual that came with my .58 Green Mountain barrel. I'm usually slow about stuff like that.
Anyway, the cleaning instructions they give for their barrels seem to me to be severe overkill.
My question is, do you actually go through all that stuff, or do you just soap and water clean it using patches?
I have vever felt the need for bore brushes in a PRB barrel, and I hardly ever use pipecleaners.
How do you do it?

The first time cleaning of a Green Mountain Barrel... the over kill on the cleaning is a good thing. After that, the soap and water bath with an occasional bore brush is about all that is necessary. You as a shooter will know when it is time to really give the barrel a good scrubbing.

My ML barrels hardly ever see a brush Tweesdad. I do the soap and water thing with patches on the cleaning jag, then hit it with a blast of carburetor cleaner from the breech end, followed by an oil patch. I do use pipe cleaners in the nipple seat though.

Just plain old hot water for me with patches, followed by a good oiling.
