The other day i picked up some bullets that were laying on the ground, up where i have been shooting paper for the past 2 year or so.

All the bullets started out weighing 300g, at least that's what was on the box.

I washed them some, and took these pictures:

The bullet on the far left is a 45 caliber Gold Dot, which now weighs 297.5g.

Moving right the bullets are a 45 caliber Nosler weighing 231.2g, a 44 caliber xtp weighing 270g, a 44 caliber xtp weighing 225.8g, a 45 caliber xtp weighing 289.8g, and the shell on the right is an xtp.

Im beginning to like those Gold Dots more and more. I have some older Speer 300gr .452s. Mine dont say GoldDot but appear to be a plated soft points. I paid less than $19 for 50, so i couldnt pass them up.

Cant wait until the DeepCurls are available. Pricing is very good for a bullet that holds together so well and expands nicely.

Thank you

Those are probably what they call the uni-core they have a exposed lead tip as compared to the gold dots where the jacket extends up into the hollow point. They were around for a long time and work well. I have some 325gr 50 cal that I use in my 54cal Knight. Nothing that I have ever shot with them has walked away from that bullet. Even at 150 yards on a deer I have yet to be able to recover a bullet. Most have been DRT or at most gone 25 yards after being hit.
