I was looking at a knight Extreme with a stainless barrel and thumb hole stock for $450.00 new.Does anybody have an opinion on this muzzleloader.

I have a gun based on the Disc Extreme in 54cal.

All i can say is they are VERY well made and accurate. I tried to call them today though and could only get an answering machine so......

You will not find too many other MLs that will shoot as accurately with hotter loads.

knight rifle's are among the best imho but you should be able to get one like that at a much better price,i bought one just like that last year new for$300......karl

That is a bit high.

My limited edition GMB54 in stainless was only about $400 and beautiful laminate stock.

They still have some in stock too. :D

My buddy just bought a brand new Long Range Hunter with green laminate stock, scope & case for $499 so yea, I think you can do better.

Now that LRH was a steal.

They are a bit heavy but i love them.

Thats what I said. It was only $449 without scope and case. Standard or thumbhole. They may have some left. If anyones interested I can post the phone number.

I wish i had room and my Tax returns atm :D

Ive spent a small fortune in the last year on MLs and accessories.

Best price i can find is $510 at MidwayUSA. They have the 50cal LRH with standard laminate. I would consider a 52cal if it had both breach plugs and i could sell 1 or 2 of mine.
:p

Still too about $100-$150 too much. The laminate is a more desireable stock. If your not in a hurry you will find them in the $300-$350 range in like new condition.
Good luck

I have the thumbhole stock extreme ss barrel. I love this gun only problem i have is thier is only one bolt (or screw) holding the stock to the barrel. Some times i can feel the barrel shifting up and down in the stock. I am going to bed the stock or find out some way to fix this because i love this gun so much. If you get one you wont be dissapointed. The thumbhole stock itself is solid (not tupaware) and fits just right for me. Good luck on your find. I would buy another if i could .

I have noticed that with the composite stocks but not with the laminate stocks. No issues with my stainless laminate.

Is thier a place i can just buy the laminate stock in thumbhole that i would not have to do any modifications. thanks

Yes, there is no modification. It is just the 1 screw. They are pretty expensive from Knight. I would search around for a used one. They do come up on Ebay & Gunbroker now & then. I have seen a some in the past listed here in the classified section. If I see one I'll post back.

Knight does not have any more Laminated Extreme Stock in either regular or thumbhole. I have the regular Extreme Laminated Stock and it does loosen up. It is going to get bedded next month in an attempt to fix this issue as it is causing vertical stringing.
