I just got my #69 (.029") and #67 (.032") drill bits to enlarge the .026" flash hole in my Triumph plug but they're too small for any chuck I have.
Dremel has a #4486 drill chuck that looks like it screws onto the Dremel and accepts down to a 1/32" bit. And they make a Mini Drill Chuck that has a 1/8" shank that goes into a standard Dremel collet but handles bits even smaller.

Just wondering what everyone uses to drill their breech plugs or vent liners? Thanks.

I normally never drill the flash hole out - it is a delicate operation - it is really easy to break the bit in the hole in the process.... If you do this go very very slow. You will need a slow turning drill and better yet a drill press that you can control speed and depth of cut...

Installing a vent liner is not as delicate, but again you need the right drill and usually a drill press or lathe....

I'm using a type of dental floss from oral B
they are pre cut strips
one end is stiff so it goes through the hole
then it changes to a spongy floss that is larger in diamoter than the stiff part
I spray some hoppees elite on it and work back ang forth
works good
can't remember the name but I got the idea from someone on here

I do have a drill press that I can slow down to 250 rpms so I couldl try the Mini Chuck with the 1/8" shank that I can put in my drill chuck but I think I'll contact Don @ Western Powder to see how they do it. It might be better to let them do it and keep my bits as picks.

should have a flash hole .035 to .036"

i bought a #59 and #60 irwin bits to drill out my nipples on my sidelocks.

A good jewler in town can do it for you also - he will have a mini lathe that will do it very well...

Was gonna tell you that I am a machinist and can help with little odds and ends things like that for future reference. Something like that would only take a few minutes of my time.
