Its probably been beaten pretty bad over the forum,but...

I did my own little test with some scent blocker.

1:The primos deodorant stick(or lack of I should say).I put it on in the morning,and after a full day...well I don't stink.Cant smell anything.
2:I bought some scent blocker(wildlife research center).I sprayed the cat litter box with it...it was the change day,and pretty ripe. After a full day the doesn't stink...at all.

I remember I went out last year with a friend. He had some scent blocker, and we sprayed our selfs(the same as above). We walked up on some deer, and I had 4 bears cruising around me...really close. This year we went out,and didn't use any type of blocker.I heard game walking around us but never came up close. In fact we didn't see a damn thing.Just heard em running,or walking from us.

So...I'm sold on the scent thing.Yes I know its important to keep the wind to your nose too...but last year we didn't pay attention to that...this year we did.

Whats your take on the subject?Just curios.

Get the nastiest smelling cap you have, and spray it with several brands..,

I love the Primos Silver in the Green bottle!!!

You could eat the butt right out of the cat after spraying it with that stuff.

Lol.

I actually bought some of the primos laundry wash.Haven't used it yet tho.I don't use tree stands.I hike, and stalk.I'm starting to think this scent thing is a big deal with my type of hunting....granted as I said before on the forum I'm a new hunter, and am learning a lot.

I can't prove the stuff works, but I can't prove that it doesn't.

mcrik

Based on a sh!t load of first hand personal experience tha ones I have tried actually do work. But only if you start with a as clean and oder free outer cloths and body as you can atain.

They will not compinsate for sloppy scent control or failing to take the wind direction into account for how you hunt.

I use the scent killer brand, bath soap and shampoo, laundry soap, and the spray. Seems to work pretty good

i don't rely in it but i use it just incase it helps. I watch the wind and climb high with the climbing stand.

I am more concerned about not leaving a trail and try to set up using the wind. I'm not sold on Scent Loc

I believe using a scent-free regiment definitely helps (shower, wash clothes w/no scent stuff, etc), spray down w/it and even use ScentLok when bowhunting, but also believe nothing defeats a deer's nose. Agree w/ previous statement re., not convinced about ScentLok but I do use for bowhunting as ranges closer. I think getting up in a treestand is more effective so I do that as well.
