guys while I am awaiting the lehigh conversion I decide to convert the plug I had to shoot cases like all my other muzzleloaders. First thing I did was cut off the nipple from the plug so I just had a hex. Then drilled a .156 hole threw the plug and tapped it for a 10/32 screw. Then I opened the hole in the primer end for 1/4"x20 about 5/8" deep for my cap screw which left room for headspace adjustment. Here's a pic:
then once I had my headspace I locked it in with the ventliner (ml1)from the powder end. Here's a pic:
now I have some cut down .243 cases that I use with my converted encore that fit perfect in the knight bolt and slip over the cap screw perfect: here's a couple pics:
here's a pic of the bolt closed:
when I was planning all this in my head I figured there would be some hicups along the way but to my surprise it worked perfect. All my conversions to cases has resulted in zero blowback so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I hope to test it in the next couple weeks.
