Vortek Rifle?

Anyone had any experience with the new Vortek by Traditions?

It appears to be a cool rifle. I read Toby's review a little while back. He just picked them up as a sponsor so.....

Other reviews ive read were a tiny bit less generous but good. The ones i handled had a really cool feeling stock. Its hard to explain.

I do really like him though and enjoy his website. He uses many of the components that are also popular here and has years of experience.

My personal opinion is that there are many other similar rifles in that price range with more to offer. Look at some of his other reviews too. The MDM Quickshooter he has is awesome.

I also like the feel of the Traditions stock,very secure and comfortable.
I have never owned or fired a Traditions gun.

I would imagine that it would go boom just fine and be accurate enough with the right load to hunt anything you wanted.

It's so hard for me to compair guns,there all good,most are 1 in 28,209 ignition,nice BP's,easy clean up.
I guess some of the lower end models arent stainless but nickle finish.

I like the look of the Vortek

I can't remember which magazine it was in, but they reviewed the CVA Apex, TC Bone Collecter Triumph, and the Traditions Vortek. All 3 rifles recieved good reviews, accurate, easy to clean, etc.. One test that the Vortek failed was being able to be fired after being submerged in water for 30 seconds. The article noted that the powder was completely soaked, while the other two rifles had no problems.

I noticed the trigger was about 4 lbs, non-adjustable, and had a lot of creep. Everything else was superb.
