Wonder why CVA only recommends a max.100gr of loose vs 3 "pellets" (150gr).Whats up w/that. I normaly shoot 110 - 115gr BH209 as a hunting load in my Omega. I fully realize 150gr is redicules anyway but is the Accura not really a 150gr gun like TC.

IMO its CVA being cautious and most loads over 110gr lose accuracy anyway. It may also have something to do with PowerBelts. CVA recommends them but heavy charges usually give poor results.

Whats REALLY funny. They offer a 444gr PB and claim its fine but recommend against using any other conical over 400gr or sabots over 300gr. :huh?:

Mines a 45 so 100gr of BH209 is plenty for great performance. 90-100gr seems to be the sweet spot.

IMO 110gr of BH209 is totally safe and ive tried a few 200gr SSTs with BH209. Sabots took a bit more damage and i noticed a bit more blowby. Not bad though.

CVA claims pellets burn more progressively but so does BH209 compared to other loose powder. They dont currently include BH209 in the manual.

fisher1,
Check back a few pages and you'll find allot of info on powder chargers. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

the deal with the 100gr loose limit is they did a lot of testing and found that most powder charges over 100gr, came out unburnt and basically wasted powder. Ive shot 150gr charges with the accura ( loose) and it did fine, just ate my powder supply up fast. Find a starting point and work your way up to where its best accuracy is.
