I was at the small local gunshop yesterday. There was a pack of the orange discs in the back on a shelf with no price. They had been there awhile. He said the price was $1, he only had one pack. I thought I'd buy some bullets too. I got a 50 pack of the Hornady XTP .452 300 grn, non-mag bullets. I've been a 250grn SST fan but thought I'd try these. I'll see how they fit with some of the sabots I have. Any reports on these with deer? My average shot is 25-75 yrds. I was thinking about 110grns of B209 for a load, maybe the full 120.
Well, I checked the bore fit with Harvester crush rib sabots for the 45cal bullet. The fit was superb in my Knight. Now just some range testing & I am ready to go, for next Fall that is.
