My daughter and I went hoggin this morning and it was a successful hunt! This was her first hunting experience where we got something. She's at the point now to where she understands about being quiet. I bang-flopped this sow at 76 yards from a ground blind with my Endeavor. She was very excited and I think I have a new hunter in the family now. I just wish we weren't leaving for Japan so soon and I had the opportunity to get her shooting. But that's high on my priority list for things to do when we get back. Here's some pics...

Congratulations all around to both of you... You need to have yor picture tken with your daughter more often - you have almost cracked a smile :D

You know a lot of really good education occurs from life's experiances, your daughter will gain a lot of experiances that a lot of other American children will never be fortunate enough to gain and I believe that this gain will be to America's advantage.

That is just AWESOME!!!!!!!

Nothing warms the cockles of my heart more than seeing a Father and Child in the wild, sharing the experience of the hunt. Brings back some great memories for me.

congratulations on a great hog hunt. I am sure it is one you and your daughter will long remember.

8) Nice hog and little one!! What bullet did you use this time??

Same bullet. 250g Barnes T-EZ with an MMP HPH-12 sabot. I think next time I might use my Remington 700 .30-06. It has been a little neglected since I got into muzzleloading.

I'll probably have to move to a different spot soon. The trend is that once two hogs have been taken in one spot, they quit coming. I took this one and then moved my blind up to 30 yards from the feeder. I'm going to let my GySgt take one with his bow. Then I predict they'll quit coming for a while. So I'll hunt one of my other hog spots.

congrats, Spencer that one should eat good. cooler temps coming next week the Ga. crowd will be all over the club. i built the bridge behind the club house friday going to build 2 more

Spencer...congrats and very cute daughter. I think you will definitely have to add a shotgun to your arsenal. It won't be too many more years and you may need to keep it handy on the porch.

Great pics. I'm envious....my daughter used to shoot with me before she went and grew up! Now, with four children, she doesn't have time.

Spence, it is great to see that you are having fun! Your daughter is a real cutie...enjoy every minute of being a Daddy. They grow up fast. My little girl starts college tomorrow. Took her fishing last week and she caught more than I did (because I spend all my time baiting her hooks...19 years old and she still doesn't want to touch a worm).

Sw,

You and that Endevor are a Hog Killing Machine! :D 8)

Glad to see your Daughter enjoyed a Day in the Wild with Dad.

Thanks Jim! I'll have to go check those bridges out next time I'm out there. 8)

I'm already prepared Spit. Remington 11-87 12 Gauge. So I can fire repeated shots as they're running away!....

shotgun

Being a dad of a cute daughter the 'cleaning of the shotgun approach' has always been a good fall back. I saw a movie where a father tells a young man taking his daughter out on a first date that whatever he does to his daughter, he would find the kid and do the same thing to him! I thought it was most excellent!
